When does my divorce become final?

Updated: Oct 22, 2018

Your are not legally divorced at the conclusion of your divorce hearing. Your divorce becomes final after a total of 120 days (if you proceeded on a Joint Petition for Divorce) or after a total of 90 days (if you proceeded on a Complaint for Divorce). You can remarry after the total 120 or 90 day period has lapsed and the divorce becomes absolute.
